Aviation Employee Chris Jaeck recognized as a STAR!

S T A R  (Special Thanks And Recognition)

    Chris Jaeck
         Concern, Great Service
It was one o'clock going on two in the A.M. I HAD to make a payment before morning, after dropping my payment in the drop box I looked down and my tire was completely flat! I wasn't going anywhere on a tire in that shape. I didn't know what to do because it was late and scary out not to mention freezing and raining cats and dogs! I had no one in my life to be able to fix my tire. I tried and tried to change this tire and failed tine after time. Finally I dropped my pride and called Concord Regional Airport where I work. Right away Chris Jaeck came no questions asked and change my tire. He even check pressure in all the other tires. He was so helpful! I was scared because I was in the middle of NO where alone but he came in no time. My only regret is that I didn't call him sooner! Thanks Chris Jaeck and those who told him I was in need of help! (Chris Riley and Glen Massey) You guys are special!!

Several Airport Employees Reconized for participating in City's Eyes and Ears Program.

Congratulations to the CRA Employees Tom Gantt, Pam Hartsell, Glenn Hatley, and Rob Walter for being recognized as top participants in the City of Concord's Eyes and Ears Program for FY 2009.

The "Eyes and Ears" program asks City coworkers to look out for and report items that need to be addressed by the City such as potholes, illegal signs, and clogged storm drains before those items cause a problem or complaint from City residents.  The City Customer Call Center logs all calls and employees with the highest number of reports made throughout the year were reconized and rewarded for their participation at a lunchen in November.

Aviation Department wins Spring 2009 Litter Sweep Competition!

Congratulations to the CRA Team of Tom Gantt, Bradon Byerly, Bill Sherill, Judy Hooks, & Darrel Burris for winning the City of Concord 2009 Spring Litter Sweep Competition by picking up the more bags of trash than any other City department team.   The Team will be taken out to lunch for their hard work.

In addition, Brandon Byerly won 2nd place for most unusual piece of litter picked up. Brandon found a certificate of appreciation from the US Army.

The City has Litter Sweep weeks twice a year where City departments and neighborhood groups pick a section of road in the City and spend a few hours cleaning up trash and debris.  In total 336 bags of trash were removed from our City streets!
